What are we?

Hawthorn Arts Limited is a visual arts company consisting of outreach, education and retail.

 

Our team is committed to delivering the highest standard of participatory arts to people of all ages and all abilities throughout the UK but primarily in the North East of England.

 

We hold weekly creative classes and workshops both on and off site. These are extremely popular and delivered by professional, qualified artists.

 

For all your creative needs we also have a shop where you can browse through a myriad of tempting products and get advice from our friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Who are we?

Graham Hodgson

Managing Director / Lead Artist



Graham is an award winning, degree qualified artist, illustrator and tutor with over 20 years experience as a commercial artist.

 

After gaining BA(Hons) Illustration, Art & Design and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education he subsequently spent 3 years supply teaching around the North East in schools, colleges and universities.

 

Graham is a professional member of the Association of Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors and a trained Arts Award Adviser for Arts Council England.

Anne Hodgson

Director / Creative Development Manager



Anne's qualifications and experience include training, event management, youth work, mentoring, counselling and adult education.

 

She spent 17 years in local government, all in positions where public relations were paramount. She spent 4 years as coordinator of a mentoring project for the Youth Offending Service, and then more recently she worked for 3 years as Youth Arts Officer for South Tyneside Council.

 

Her expertise lies in communication skills and organisational abilities, administration, project management, human resources and financial management. Her creative interests lie primarily in photography and performing arts.

Anne-Marie Crompton

Sales Assistant

 

Anne-Marie is invaluable when it comes to all the work behind the scenes such as admin and ICT, but she alsohas a distinctive creative streak.

 

She recently passed a certificate in papercrafting processes with flying colours! Anne-Marie is an important member of the creative team responsible for designing a great range of celebration stationery.
